Historic Folk Art

Jason grew up in and around the Workshops David T Smith, his father’s company.  https://www.davidtsmith.com  Growing up restoring early American antique furniture and crafts. Seeing how fine antiques were made helped to learn fine cabinetmaking skills. Working with hand tools including gouges for furniture carving Jason started making various reproductions and original folk art. Carving, sculpting and painting works that were sold at his father’s shop and various craft shows by the age of 10. Loving to fish and creating crafts with his elders lead to creating fish decoys. First one was a rainbow trout and that led to musky, pike, bluegill, bass and more.
